BMRA Weather Station
|
September 4, 2011 - The current weather condition at
Blue Mesa is now available from anywhere in the world. The new weather station
installed at the clubhouse reports weather observations at Blue Mesa to
this web site every hour.
The weather station consists of a thermometer, humidity sensor, barometric pressure sensor, anemometer, wind vane, and a rain gauge. In addition to the direct measurements the instrument can also use the observations from these sensors to compute derived parameters such as the dew point, wind chill, and heat index. All of the observations are automatically saved in memory and used to compute high and low values; and to provide a short and long term history of specific measurements. The weather station is a dependable system that has been used around the world for many years. The sensors were mounted near the roof top on the south side of the clubhouse. The search for an appropriate weather webcam is in progress. Although the webcam will most likely be capable of sending (live) streaming video, our current phone connection will limit the frequency at which an image can be updated. |
